TEN-PIN BOWLING AT SPINNERS
Ten Pin Bowling at Spinners puts a boutique spin on a classic favourite, with Chesterfield sofas and an intimate, lounge style setting. Settle in, line up your shot, and enjoy the unmistakable fun that only ten pin bowling can deliver. This is how we roll.
HOW TO PLAY
A game of bowling is 10 frames. In each frame you get up to two rolls to knock down all 10 pins.
Strike: All 10 pins down on your first roll. Your frame ends and you score 10 plus your next two rolls.
Spare: You clear the pins in two rolls. You score 10 plus your next one roll.
Final frame drama
Get a strike or spare in the 10th frame and you earn extra roll(s) for bonus points.
Your lane keeps score automatically, so you can focus on the roll, the rematches, and the bragging rights.

Each lane holds 6 people. We have 2 ten-pin bowling lanes at Reading, meaning up to 12 people can play at a time.
However, we can accommodate up to 16 people on 2 lanes, but you will need to contact us to request this.
Yes, we have barriers on both lanes, which can automatically go up for different players.
Bowling is traditional ten-pin bowling, where as Duckpin Bowling has smaller balls, smaller pins and shorter lanes; however, you get 3 rolls each turn instead of 2. At Reading we have normal bowling lanes. At Solihull and Plymouth we have Duckpin Bowling.
We no longer offer bowling shoes due to hygiene reasons. Please ensure that you wear appropriate footwear such as trainers. Heels and open-toed shoes are not permitted.
We do not provide bowling ramps. If someone finds throwing difficult, use the lightest ball, put the barriers up, and try a push technique where the ball starts on the floor and you can assist if needed.
Start position: Stand a little back from the foul line with your shoulders square to your target arrow.
Grip: Fingers in the holes, thumb out clean. Hold the ball at waist height, relaxed.
Approach: Take 4 or 5 smooth steps. Let the ball swing naturally like a pendulum, do not force it.
Release: Slide on your last step and release near your ankle, keeping your wrist firm and your hand behind the ball.
Follow through: Finish with your arm up toward the pins and your chest facing the target.
Aim: Pick an arrow on the lane, not the pins, and repeat the same line each time.
Yes, all of our lanes are accessible for wheelchair users.
